At the March 8, 2006 Board of Governors meeting a briefing on the progress of the CAISO 2005 Transmission Plan and the new Transmission Planning process was presented. At that time, CAISO Management reported that projects had been identified as being needed to mitigate reliability problems and to decrease costs related to recent CAISO Reliability Must Run (RMR) and Local Capacity Studies (LCR) as well as real-time congestion issues identified by CAISO operations during the hottest four months of 2005 (June–September). Further, the briefing indicated that the projects would be presented to you at your April 2006 meeting.
