seeking stakeholder input on concepts for new or enhanced stakeholder information products and
services. The CAISO will hold a web

Main Text:
The CAISO recently launched a
project to identify, prioritize and develop new or enhanced information products
and services to increase transparency and facilitate effective stakeholder
decision-making. We are currently
seeking stakeholder input for the stakeholder needs assessment (requirements
gathering) phase of this Information Services Project.
Later today, the CAISO will post a
summary of all stakeholder feedback received
thus far to its website at http://www.caiso.com/1870/1870b0752e840.html. We are
currently refining the list to differentiate between requirements that are open
(not yet planned) and enhancements already planned or in process, and will
publish that information to the same website location on Friday,
September 15.
The CAISO requests that interest
parties submit additional ideas or input, and rank the top five priorities for
their representative organizations based on the list of open stakeholder
requirements. Stakeholder input and ranking is requested
by close of business Wednesday, September 28, 2006, to aagustin@caiso.com.
The CAISO will hold a web-meeting on
Friday, September 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time to provide a project overview,
discuss the preliminary needs assessment, and answer questions pertaining to the
Project.
As we move forward,
the CAISO will continue to involve stakeholders in subsequent stages of the
Project. In the future, the CAISO
anticipates conducting this type of information services planning on a regular
basis.
Please note that this
Project focuses on current stakeholder needs, and is not impacted by or related
to Market Redesign and Technology Upgrade (MRTU). MRTU-related projects have
existing stakeholder communication and feedback mechanisms already in
place. Any feedback received
related to MRTU will be channeled to the appropriate project
team.

Project
Overview: The project consists of the following
phases:
·
Needs
Assessment: The Project began with interviews of
representatives from each stakeholder segment to identify initial stakeholder
needs. The
CAISO is now seeking feedback from the larger stakeholder community to finalize
and prioritize the needs list, completing the Needs Assessment phase.
·
Initial
Plan: Once the Needs Assessment is complete,
CAISO will develop an initial plan with a preliminary set of products and/or
services to meet the identified stakeholder needs, considering (1) relative
stakeholder priorities; (2) CAISO’s internal budget and resources; and (3) CAISO
work already in progress.
·
Final
Plan: CAISO will share the initial Information
Products and Services Plan with stakeholders and incorporate their feedback into
a final plan that will include a target deployment schedule.
