Main Text:  In 2006, the California ISO (CAISO) conducted stakeholder interviews and solicited stakeholder feedback on potential new or enhanced CAISO information offerings to improve the way we share information with our stakeholders.  Based on the needs identified and ranked by stakeholders, the CAISO developed the IP&S Project Final Plan, available at http://www.caiso.com/18be/18beea0b53cf0.pdf, to address the high-priority and frequently mentioned items.

The CAISO is committed to provide quarterly status reports on the progress of the IP&S Project and has posted its IP&S Project Quarter 2 Status Report to its website for stakeholder information and review at http://www.caiso.com/1870/1870b0752e840.html.

Below are the highlights of the accomplishments made during the second quarter of 2007:

·         Stakeholder Process and Interaction:  Internal effort continued during Quarter 2 by CAISO External Affairs department to improve all aspects of stakeholder process and interaction.  This includes establishment of inter-departmental service agreements to standardize posting of meeting notices and materials, management of meetings, and publication of CAISO white papers.  This effort continues throughout 2007 with the goal of establishing corporate-wide standards.

·         Improve Search Function:  In May the CAISO implemented a new website search tool on its public website that contains advanced search capability.  Future refinements are expected based on user community feedback and will include the ability to narrow the search based on website menu structure.

·         Improvement to Board of Governors Posting Practice:  Starting with the May Board meeting, materials will be posted approximately seven days in advance of all regularly scheduled Board meetings.

·         Real-Time Availability Management Tool:  On May 2007, the CAISO upgraded the Scheduling and Logging for the ISO of California (SLIC) system with the Real-Time Availability Management (RTAM) enhancement to facilitate more efficient outage reporting in support of new generation outage reporting requirements.

·         Market Participant Portal – In April and June, 2007 a pilot team of Scheduling Coordinators and internal CAISO users participated in demonstrations of the Market Participant Portal to verify stakeholder expectations and identify usability issues.  The Portal project is planned for rolling implementation beginning in Quarter 3, 2007.
