The mission of the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) is to plan and operate a safe and reliable electric system, facilitate markets for capacity, energy and congestion. But like any organization that maintains reliability, the CAISO must also be a responsive organization that fosters change for the benefit of our customers in California and the West. The CAISO is prepared to make the modifications to its current Control Area Network Model that are outlined in this document. The proposed changes are scheduled for implementation on October 10th, 2007 effective for trade date October 11th, 2007. The following modifications are included in the model: 1. Branch group Modification of SMUD/MID and TID 2. New Resources, Participating Generator Agreements / Metered Sub-System Aggregator Agreements, resource renaming, Qualifying Facility Conversions, Power Purchase Agreements to Participating Generator Agreements 3. Update the Imperial Valley 230 S Tie-line impedance 4. New Resource Interconnection Transmission Projects
