California ISO Board Selection Process

Background

The California ISO Board Selection Process begins with the establishment of a Board Nominee Review Committee, which is a representative group of stakeholders responsible for nominating candidates for the California ISO Governing Board. Each stakeholder sector is responsible for selecting its own six members to serve on the Committee.

Once the Committee has been established and secretaries nominated, the 2007 Board Member selection process will begin in accordance with the California ISO Board Resolution Concerning Board Member selection, dated 5/06/05 and modified 8/3/06, as follows:

  • Russell Reynolds Associates, a professional search firm, will create a list of eight qualified candidates and forward the list to the 36-member Board Nominee Review Committee.
  • The Committee will select one person to represent the group for a personal interview of each candidate.
  • Based on inputs from the stakeholder sectors, Russell Reynolds Associates will submit a recommendation to the Governor’s office.
