Subject:  12/20/07 Conference Call - Interim Capacity Procurement Mechanism

Summary:  The CAISO will conduct a stakeholder conference call on December 20, 2007 to discuss the elements of a revised proposal for an Interim Capacity Procurement Mechanism (ICPM).  On December 14, the CAISO will post the proposed revised ICPM proposal for written stakeholder comment by January 7, 2008.

Main Text:  The California ISO (CAISO) has deferred taking the ICPM to the CAISO Board of Governors on December 12-13, 2007, and instead will be presenting it at the January 28-29, 2008 Board meeting.  The CAISO will conduct a conference call on December 20, 2007 to discuss proposed revisions to the ICPM proposal, and anticipates filing the ICPM with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission at the end of January 2008 to be effective under the Market Redesign and Technology Upgrade tariff.

 

The CAISO will post the proposed revised ICPM proposal to its website at http://www.caiso.com/1bc5/1bc5db284cc80.html by the close of business on December 14, 2007.  Stakeholders are encouraged to submit written comments to kjohnson@caiso.com by close of business January 7, 2008.  The CAISO will then post the written comments at the same website location.
