Subject:  New Charge Types for Settling PIRP Export Energy

Summary:  The CAISO has posted for review and comment Charge Type Matrix V18.7, which reflects changes to charge types for the settlement of Export Energy from Generating Units in the Participating Intermittent Resource Program (PIRP).

Main Text:  In accordance with Sections 11.2.4.5.4.2 and 11.2.4.5.4.3 of the CAISO Tariff, three new charge types have been created for the settlement of exported PIRP Energy.  Beginning on November 1, 2006, Participating Intermittent Resources have been subject to the PIRP Export Fee, as set forth in Schedule 4 of Appendix F of the CAISO Tariff, for Energy generated, except to the extent the Participating Intermittent Resource is exempt as provided under EIRP 5.3 of Appendix Q of the CAISO Tariff.

 

The CAISO will settle the first applicable PIRP Export Energy charges, which are for the last quarter of 2007, on the January 31, 2008 Preliminary Settlement Statement.  The following charge types have been set up:

 

• Charge Type 0751 - Intermittent Resources Export Energy Settlement
• Charge Type 0752 - Intermittent Resources Export Energy Allocation
• Charge Type 0741 - Intermittent Resources Export Energy Process Fee

 

The CAISO has posted the proposed charge types in Charge Type Matrix V18.7 at http://www.caiso.com/docs/2005/03/20/2005032014064728893.html for Scheduling Coordinator review and comment.
