IRRP High-Level Program Plan

Summary

The CAISO has posted a document entitled, Integration of Renewable Resources Program (IRRP) High-Level Program Plan, and requests stakeholders submit comments on the Program Plan by April 25, 2008.  CAISO has tentatively scheduled a stakeholder meeting for May 9, 2008 to discuss the Plan.

The California ISO (CAISO) has posted a document entitled, Integration of Renewable Resources Program (IRRP) High-Level Program Plan, to its website at http://www.caiso.com/1fac/1facbc35316e0.pdf.  In November, 2007 the CAISO published a report entitled, Integration of Renewable Resources Report, Transmission and Operating Issues and Recommendations for Integrating Renewable Resources on the CAISO Controlled Grid.  CAISO initiated the study and resulting report to ensure that the operation and design of the transmission grid fully supports California’s established standards with respect to the development and integration of renewable resources.  

 

CAISO developed the IRRP High-Level Program Plan in order to begin organizing the various follow-up activities identified in, and necessary as a result of, the Integration of Renewable Resources Report.  CAISO requests stakeholders submit comments on the IRRP High-Level Program Plan to jblatchford@caiso.com by close of business, April 25, 2008.  To assist stakeholders in developing their comments, CAISO has posted a Stakeholder Comment Template to its website at http://www.caiso.com/1fac/1facbd2839c60.doc. 

 

The CAISO has tentatively scheduled a stakeholder meeting to discuss the IRRP High-Level Program Plan for May 9, 2008.  Depending on the nature and extent of the comments received, the CAISO may elect to not hold the stakeholder meeting. If the CAISO elects to not hold the stakeholder meeting, we will notify Market Participants no later than May 2, 2008.
