Generator Reliability Communication Protocol

The CAISO will host a third GRCP stakeholder workshop on May 12, 2008 to address the Generator Operator (GO) NERC mandatory Reliability Standard reporting issue necessary to provide compliance documentation.   Please RSVP by close of business May 7, 2008.

On April 23, 2008 the California ISO (CAISO) held a second Generator Reliability Communication Protocol (GRCP) workshop to facilitate agreements between Generator Operators (GOs) and Transmission Operators (TOPs).  Such agreements are intended to formally establish standardized communication protocols that can be published and used for potential North American Electric Reliability Council / Western Electricity Coordinating Council (NERC/WECC) audits.  The CAISO presented the following documents at the meeting and seeks stakeholder comments:

 

• Draft GRCP Responsibilities Matrix 23-Apr-2008 CLEAN - a matrix of suggested responsibilities between affected Generator Operator, Scheduling Coordinator and CAISO
• GRCP Matrix Cover Letter - dated April 22, 2008
