New ADS Client Available

Summary

The CAISO has released an updated Automated Dispatch System (ADS) Client that includes a separate alarm to notify users when CAISO is dispatching resources in a contingency situation, and is also compliant with the new CAISO Cybertrust Certificate Authority.  All users not running ADS client version 3.1.24.549 must download this new version prior to May 13, 2008. ___________________________________________________

 

Main Text

The California ISO (CAISO) has released an updated ADS Client, version 3.2.0.550.  This new version allows users to configure a unique audible alarm for contingency run dispatches.  The functionality works similarly to the 5-minute, Hourly, and Start-Up / Shut-Down alarms available in previous versions.

 

ADS is also migrating to a CAISO Multiple Application (CMA) digital certificate, generated from the new Cybertrust Certificate Authority, and no longer requires a separate certificate unique to ADS.  The final step of this migration effort includes installation of a new CAISO Cybertrust server certificate, which is not compatible with ADS Client versions prior to 3.1.24.549.  The CAISO will be performing internal server certificate changes on May 13, 2008, therefore all users that had not upgraded to version 3.1.24.549 in January 2008, must upgrade before this date.

 

Please note that the ADS Client Update Procedures have also been updated to include new alarm instructions and a note to further explain the intended use and known limitations of the ADS Download Client.
