Background

The California ISO has initiated a stakeholder process to modify the tariff language to conform its currently effective tariff, as well as its MRTU tariff, to the Western Electricity Coordinating Council requirements. The purpose of these proposed modifications is to remove references to the CAISO's role as Reliability Coordinator, as well as to reflect the development and adoption of new Reliability Criteria by FERC applicable to Ancillary Services. Modifications include (1) Deletion of references to the CAISO as Reliability Coordinator for the Western Electricity Coordinating Council and (2) Adoption of more generalized references to Reliability Criteria in connection with Ancillary Services to reflect anticipated and possible future changes to Reliability Criteria for these services.

Outcome
Pending closure of initiative
