Summary
The ISO has posted its reviewed assessment of the annual Resource Adequacy (RA) Plans submitted by Load Serving Entities (LSEs) along with the RMR resources designated by the ISO for 2009. LSEs may submit revised annual RA plans by close of business January 15, 2009.

The California Independent System Operator (the ISO) has posted its reviewed assessment of the annual Resource Adequacy (RA) Plans submitted by Load Serving Entities (LSEs) along with the Reliability-Must-Run (RMR) resources designated by the ISO for 2009 to its website at: http://www.caiso.com/205c/205cba7ddba0.html.
The ISO provides notice that:

The ISO has
reviewed and assessed the annual RA Plans submitted by Load Serving Entities
(LSEs) along with the Reliability-Must-Run (RMR) resources designated by the ISO
for 2009
·
The ISO has
assessed compliance with aggregate annual Demand and Reserve Margin Requirements
as well as aggregate Local RA Requirements by TAC Area
·
The ISO has
evaluated whether the RA Resources that have been procured, as well as RMR
resources, ensure compliance with the Local Capacity Technical Study criteria
for Local Capacity Areas and has determined that there are collective capacity
deficiencies in several Local Capacity Areas

Compliance with
the reliability level specified in the ISO tariff for the certain Local Capacity
Areas requires procurement of the additional capacity from the generating units
identified in the report at: http://www.caiso.com/209f/209f9dbc37d30.pdf
LSEs may prevent any potential ISO backstop capacity procurement to correct the specified deficiencies by demonstrating their procurement of such additional capacity consistent with this market notice by submitting revised annual RA plans to ReliabilityRequirements@caiso.com by close of business January 15, 2009.
