2013-2014 Transmission Planning Process: Locational Effectiveness Factors

___________________________________________________

Summary

On April 8, 2014, the California ISO posted clarifying information about the locational effectiveness factors for the LA Basin and San Diego areas described in the 2013-2014 Transmission Plan. The California ISO now has revised that clarifying information to provide additional details about locational effectiveness factors in the LA Basin and San Diego areas, and has posted two documents addressing each area separately.

Main Text

The locational effectiveness information provided in the 2013-2014 Transmission Plan was developed before the CPUC issued a decision in Track 4 of the Long Term Procurement Proceeding (Docket R.12-03-014), and without taking into account the final recommended transmission reinforcements approved by the ISO Board of Governors on March 20, 2014.

In order to update the locational effectiveness information in the transmission plan, on April 8, 2014 the California ISO posted additional clarifying details for the LA Basin and San Diego areas. The California ISO has revised that clarifying information to provide additional details about locational effectiveness factors in the LA Basin and San Diego areas, and has posted two documents addressing each area separately. This additional locational effectiveness study is now based on Track 4 results for the San Diego and LA Basin areas and the approved transmission solutions in the 2013-2014 plan.

The locational effectiveness factor calculations documents are available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/planning/Pages/TransmissionPlanning/2013-2014TransmissionPlanningProcess.aspx.
