Aliso Canyon Gas-Electric Coordination Phase 2 Draft Tariff Language, Call 10/6/16
Summary
The California ISO scheduled a stakeholder call on October 6, 2016 to discuss draft tariff language for the Aliso Canyon Gas-Electric Coordination Phase 2 initiative. Please submit comments on the language by October 5.
Main Text
The ISO has scheduled a stakeholder call on October 6, 2016 to discuss proposed draft tariff language for the Aliso Canyon Gas-Electric Coordination Phase 2 initiative, which is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/DraftTariffLanguage_AlisoCanyonGas-ElectricCoordinationPhase2.docx.
The proposed tariff language reflects the ISO’s proposal to extend certain mitigation measures approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) early this year to address operational and market issues on the electric system resulting from the limited availability of the Aliso Canyon storage facility. The current measures are set to expire on November 30, 2016. The ISO will be filing to extend these provisions through the end of November 2017.
Please submit written comments on the draft tariff language to caisotariff@caiso.com by October 5 or share them during the call.
Because the current measures are set to expire next month, this initiative's stakeholder process timeline has been compressed. The ISO plans to file the tariff language with the FERC in mid-October.
