The California ISO posted a third revised straw proposal for the Contingency Modeling Enhancements initiative and has scheduled a stakeholder call for December 2, 2015. Please submit comments by December 18.
Main Text
The ISO has scheduled a Contingency Modeling Enhancements initiative stakeholder call for December 2, 2015 to discuss the initiative's third revised straw proposal available on its website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/ThirdRevisedStrawProposal-ContingencyModelingEnhancements.pdf. The call will also focus on the congestion revenue allocation, congestion revenue right payment adjustments, and corrective capacity no pay rules.
The ISO committed to market participants to develop a prototype of the preventive-corrective constraint to provide a proof of concept by testing it on actual production information, and has been testing the Contingency Modeling Enhancements (CME) prototype implementation with production cases. Several issues in the implementation details were not aligned correctly with the policy intention and required vendor changes, thus were not complete as anticipated by publication of third revised straw proposal. Therefore, please note the results will be shared with stakeholders separately in the near future.
The ISO proposes to continue with the stakeholder process to finish necessary policy discussions in anticipation of the final prototype results.
