Main Text
The ISO has scheduled a stakeholder call on September 28, 2015 to discuss its revised straw proposal for the Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources initiative. The proposal posted today is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/RevisedStrawProposal_EnergyStorage-DistributedEnergyResources.pdf .
Enhancing the market participation of grid-connected storage and distribution-connected resources is the central focus of this ISO initiative. In this paper the ISO presents its revised straw proposals on the 2015 scope of issues for energy storage and distributed energy resources. The 2015 scope consists of three items: 1) a limited set of enhancements to the ISO non-generator resources model, 2) consideration of alternative performance evaluation methodologies for demand response resources, and 3) addressing questions associated with some non-resource adequacy multiple use applications.
Please submit comments on the proposal to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business October 9.
