The California ISO will hold a public informational stakeholder call on Aug. 11, 2021, to discuss the new Day-Ahead Summer Report.
As part of the day-ahead process, the market includes a Residual Unit Commitment (RUC) process to ensure there is sufficient capacity committed to meet the ISO load forecast. Based on other factors, such as weather uncertainty, the RUC requirements, which are based on the day-ahead load forecast, may be adjusted. These additional requirements are typically referred to as load forecast (RUC) adjustments.
The ISO has explained the utilization of these adjustments in its recent analysis of summer conditions. In order to increase the transparency on the adjustments used in the day-ahead market, the ISO will begin posting a new daily Day-Ahead Summer Report to inform the market of the applicable adjustments implemented in the RUC process for each trading date.
The web conference information is available on the miscellaneous meetings webpage. The new daily report will be available after the day-ahead market process is complete, and will be available on the Reports and Bulletins webpage, under the Market Performance Reports heading and Day-Ahead Daily Market Watch Reports subheading. The call will be recorded and the video file posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience
purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
