Phase 1 Aliso Canyon Initiative Production Activation 6/2/16
Summary
The California ISO will activate Phase 1 of the Aliso Canyon Gas-Electric Coordination initiative in the production environment on June 2, 2016 at approximately 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). This expedited stakeholder initiative addresses the gas-electric market coordination concerns raised by the limited operations of Aliso Canyon storage facility.
Main Text
The ISO will activate Phase 1 of the Aliso Canyon Gas-Electric Coordination initiative in the production environment on June 2, 2016 at approximately 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time).
This expedited stakeholder initiative addresses the gas-electric market coordination concerns raised by the limited operations of Aliso Canyon storage facility. The project proposes to implement market mechanisms and other tools to mitigate the risks to gas and electric markets to avoid electric service interruptions to the extent possible under strained gas market conditions.
- The ability to rebid commitment costs for resources not picked up in the day ahead market will be active by June 2, 2016 trade hour 19.
- A new CMRI report showing the D+2 report will be populated on June 3, 2016 after the completion of the day ahead market run for trade date June 5, 2106.
- Phase 2 functionality is still scheduled for deployment on July 6, 2016.
