As part of the Commitment Cost Enhancements Phase 3 (CCE3) initiative implementation, the ISO will hold a stakeholder web conference on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 to discuss the Use Limit registration process and qualifying Use Limit criteria. The agenda and presentation will be available prior to the web conference at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/CommitmentCostEnhancements.aspx. The ISO will also discuss the upcoming Use
Limit registration deadlines for both market simulation and Production environments.
The ISO is extending the Use Limit resource registration deadline by one week, to June 29. The new deadline will allow stakeholders additional time to submit their registration, and for the ISO to validate the use limit status requests prior to the start of market simulation for CCE3, which will occur in September 2018.
Registrations for Use Limited Resources
Market Simulation: Registrations received after June 29, 2018 will still be processed, but may be at risk of not being included in the market simulation. Please note these registration will be processed on a first-come first-served basis. As of August 22, 2018 registrations not processed will have the "USE_LIMIT" flag set to "N" in Masterfile for the September market simulation.
Production:Resources not participating in market simulation must submit their Use Limit registrations by Aug. 1, 2018 to maintain their Use Limit status in production effective Nov. 1, 2018.
Completing the Use Limit Registration for Market Simulation and Production
Registrations must be completed by submitting a Customer Inquiry, Dispute and Information (CIDI) ticket, including the following information:
- "Use Limited Registration" in the subject line
- Functional Environment = Production
- Attach the Use Limit Plan Data Template
- A detailed explanation of why the unit is subject to operating limitations
- Attach any additional documentation as described in the Use-Limited Resource Guide Book
