The California ISO has scheduled a stakeholder call on Jan. 8, 2019 to discuss the draft study for the Variable Operations and Maintenance Cost Review process. The draft study is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/VariableOperations-MaintenanceCostReview.aspx.
Every three years, the ISO evaluates the variable operations and maintenance cost adder used for proxy commitment costs and default energy bids to ensure they accurately reflect resources’ variable costs. The ISO is starting a review process to update, as applicable, the adders for variable operations and maintenance costs. During this process, stakeholders will have an opportunity to review and comment on the methodology used to calculate variable operations and maintenance costs.
An agenda and presentation will be posted prior to the call on the webpage linked above.
Please submit written comments on the draft study methodology to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business January 15.
