The California ISO has scheduled a stakeholder call on July 11, 2022, to discuss the Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) Resource Sufficiency Evaluation Enhancements (RSEE) Phase 2 straw proposal.
The straw proposal is available on the WEIM RSEE webpage. A presentation will also be posted prior to the call on that same page.
The WEIM RSEE Phase 2 initiative considers outstanding enhancements to the WEIM RSE such as the consideration of load conformance, identifying the correct metrics and quantity of uncertainty that should be tested for, and how block hourly exports from the CAISO BAA that may be cleared due to advisory WEIM transfers are treated. In addition, Phase 2 will investigate the ability for the WEIM to provide assistance for balancing authority areas who have failed the RSE.
The call will be recorded and the video file posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
Please submit written comments on the straw proposal and meeting discussion by end of day July 25, 2022, through the ISO’s commenting tool using the link on the initiative webpage.
