The California ISO will hold Day-Ahead Market Enhancements (DAME) initiative public stakeholder workshops on Feb. 27, 2023, and March 7-8, 2023. The workshop on February 27 is offered in a virtual format, while the workshop on March 7-8, is offered virtually and in-person at the California ISO in Folsom, California.
During the workshops, the ISO and stakeholders will continue discussion on several key DAME design elements, including:
- Granularity of imbalance reserve procurement (nodal/zonal); including related issues such as deliverability, local market power mitigation, and impact on congestion revenue rights
- Energy storage modeling enhancements to better reflect impact of imbalance reserve awards on state of charge
The ISO invites stakeholders to present their perspectives on these topics during the workshops. If interested in presenting, please email ISOStakeholderAffairs@caiso.com no later than February 15 and indicate which topic(s) you would like to discuss.
If you plan to attend the March 7-8 workshop in person, please register by end of day March 3. We welcome and encourage your in-person participation, but due to the ongoing COVID risks, close proximity of meeting space, and to protect the health and safety of all attendees and participants, we are requiring anyone attending the workshop in person who has experienced COVID-like symptoms, been exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID, or travelled internationally within the past 10 days to have a negative COVID test result within 24 hours before arriving on site. While we request that you provide your own test, we will have a limited number of test kits available at the ISO for those that need them. The testing is on an honor basis and required to be reported upon check in. Individuals with a positive test result will not be able to attend in person; however, as noted above, there is the option to participate virtually.
Meeting materials will be posted to the DAME initiative webpage prior to the workshops. The workshops will be recorded and the files posted to the initiative webpage for a limited time. Any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
