The California ISO has moved the Hybrid Resources Phase 2-B and Flexible Ramping Product (FRP) Improvements activations to Feb. 1, 2023. The decision to delay these two projects is to ensure delivery of a quality product that meets internal readiness criteria and supports customer readiness feedback.

The projects require a monthly settlements configuration which necessitates the activation on the 1^st of the month. Given that the next window of opportunity for activation falls on the January 1^st holiday weekend, the ISO has decided to avoid the New Year’s holiday by opting for activation on Feb. 1, 2023.

The Hybrid Resources and FRP functionality will remain active in the current Market Simulation MapStage environment so that customers can continue to test and prepare for a Feb. 1, 2023 activation. Additional readiness activities for the activation may be scheduled for dates in January 2023. More details on these activities will be shared in the coming weeks.
