The California ISO has launched a new initiative called Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM) ISO Balancing Authority Area (BAA) Participation Rules and scheduled a public virtual stakeholder workshop on April 5, 2023, to discuss the initiative and the associated problem statements, scope and potential solutions.
As part of the EDAM design, the ISO committed to undertaking an initiative to evaluate ISO BAA-specific elements required to support EDAM participation. The items for evaluation, for example, include consideration of how the ISO may allocate within its BAA surcharges and revenues associated with the EDAM resource sufficiency passage and failure, as well as processes and tools for how the ISO may avoid potential resource sufficiency evaluation failures.
Prior to the workshop, meeting materials will be posted to the EDAM ISO BAA Participation Rules initiative webpage.
The workshop will be recorded and the files posted to the initiative webpage for a limited time. Any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
