The California ISO has posted a Resource Adequacy Modeling and Program Design (RAMPD) survey and is seeking feedback from Load Serving Entities (LSEs) by May 16, 2024. The ISO will host a public stakeholder call on April 18, 2024, to further discuss the intent of the survey and how the information received by the ISO will be used. In addition, the ISO will hold a two-day hybrid public stakeholder working group meeting on April 29-30, 2024. Attendees have the option to attend that meeting virtually or in-person at the California ISO. If you plan to attend the April 29-30 meeting in-person, please register by end of day April 24.
LSE’s are requested to respond to the survey with RA-eligible resource MWs to meet the monthly RA obligation for each month of 2025 and for the annual peak months for the years 2026-2034. The RA values shared are non-binding and should represent 100% of what is required to meet each month’s need in 2025. Response to this survey is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged. The data will be used for modeling to evaluate reliability of the balancing authority area (BAA) and inform future RA enhancements. The survey is available on the RAMPD initiative webpage. Please submit your entity’s completed survey through the Customer Inquiry and Dispute Information (CIDI) system by end of day May 16, 2024.
During the working group meeting on April 29-30, the ISO will discuss a variety of topics related to the ISO’s existing resource adequacy topics including our RA backstop processes. Working group materials will be available prior to the meeting on the RAMPD initiative webpage linked above.
The April 2024 calls will be recorded and the video files posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recordings are for informational convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
