WEIM Nominating Committee seeks Governing Body member candidates
MESSAGE

The Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) Governing Body has requested that the WEIM Nominating Committee recommend a slate of candidates to fill two Governing Body seats, effective July 1, 2023. Candidates for the Governing Body are selected in accordance with the Selection Policy for the WEIM Governing Body by a Nominating Committee comprised of WEIM stakeholder representatives.

WEIM Governing Body member Anita Decker, whose term is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2023, has expressed her interest in being reappointed to the position. Governing Body Vice Chair Jennifer Gardner has provided notice that she will resign from her position with the Governing Body (term set to expire in 2024), effective June 30, 2023.

The Charter for Energy Imbalance Market Governance provides that, if a vacancy occurs with less than 18 months left in the term, the Governing Body has the discretion to seek to fill that seat for the remaining period, or to fill the seat when the term is set to naturally expire. The Governing Body has opted to fill the seat being vacated by Vice Chair Gardner for the remaining one year left in that term.

The Nominating Committee has started its process and will work with an executive search firm to develop a position specification and nominate a slate of two candidates to the Governing Body.  Additional information, including a position specification and instructions on how to nominate a candidate, including by self-nomination, will be posted to the WEIM governance WEIM Governance webpage in the coming weeks.
