Price map
Shows wholesale power market prices electricity based on the cost of generating and delivering it from particular grid locations called nodes. The day ahead market runs the day before the energy is needed, while the 15 minute market runs in 15 minute intervals to balance last minute demand needs. Prices are shown in megawatt-hours ($/MWh).
How to use the price map
- Zoom
- Drill into the maps to find specific pricing data by using the +/- buttons to zoom.
- Switch maps
- Change between maps using the tabs labeled "Day-Ahead", "Fifteen-Minute" and "Real-Time".
- Trading date
- Find the trading date, hour and interval above the map.
- Filter prices
- Filter out Locational Marginal Prices (LMP) by using the slider.
- View details for nodes
- View the price data for a specific node by pressing the node. More detailed pricing available by pressing the info icon on the popup.
Price data is publically available in Open Access Same time Information System (OASIS) price reports.
