Vice President, Human Resources

Brenda J. Thomas was named Vice President, Human Resources for the California Independent System Operator Corporation (ISO) in October 2009. Executive Director since 2005, Ms. Thomas continues to manage all aspects of ISO Human Resources including recruitment, benefits, compensation, training, leadership development, employee relations, talent management, risk mitigation and safety.

For ten years, Ms. Thomas served as President of HR Integrity, Inc., a company she founded in 1995. The independent consulting firm provided a broad range of human resources services to businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Thomas lent her organizational expertise to leadership coaching for chief executive officers and other high-level executives and advising onsite human resources teams regarding methodologies for building and maintaining a healthy and productive workplace. She previously worked at Bank of America for 17 years, in several human resources roles with progressive responsibilities, the final five years as Senior Vice President and Director, Human Resources.

Ms. Thomas earned a bachelor of science degree in finance and a master of business administration in organizational behavior and industrial relations from the University of California Berkeley.
