What is the SLIC Web Client? |

Accurate and complete outage scheduling is vital to the reliable operation of the transmission system. The ISO’s current system, Scheduling Logging for the ISO of California (SLIC), accepts transmission and generation outage requests electronically submitted via the SLIC Web Client. The SLIC Web Client provides a web-enabled interface for the transmission and generation owners to schedule their outages. This interface is graphical in nature, intuitive in its operation, and supports the exchange of outage information to and from the ISO. Further, market participants may query the status of their outage schedules using this web-based application. To ensure that all data transmitted is secure, the SLIC Web Client incorporates information security features that ensure mutual identification and authentication, access control, and confidentiality. Information on how to register as a SLIC user is provided by a link on the SLIC Web Client home page. An added feature of the SLIC Web Client is its ability to accept outages submitted to the ISO via an Automated Program Interface (API). Using an API, a transmission or generator owner submits outage data through their own internal outage scheduling systems and information is electronically linked to the ISO SLIC system. Information on developing an API is also located on the SLIC Web Client home page. |
