Non-Operational Generating Unit Reports
A daily snap-shot of California power plants that are not operational due to planned or unplanned outages. Please note that reported conditions are dynamic and subject to change without further notice.
Outage Coordination
All forced outages must be reported to the California ISO with a description of the cause and all remedial actions taken.
Generator Interconnection Process
Requirements and resources for Generating Facilities seeking interconnection with the transmission grid in the ISO Control Area.
Direct Telemetry (RIG/DPG)
Formerly Generator Communications Project (GCP) and Participating Loads Project (PLP).
Technical requirements and standards for use by Generating Units and Load Participants to establish and maintain a Data Processing Gateway (DPG) between plant facilities and the ISO Energy Management System (EMS). These specifications serve as the primary means for secure telemetry between a Generator or Load Participant and the EMS for the purpose of generation control and monitoring, and as a prerequisite for participation in the ISO markets.
Local Area Reliability Service (LARS) and Reliability Must Run (RMR) Designations
An annual process that identifies geographical areas with local reliability issues in the ISO Control Area along with measures to remediate those issues. Reliability Must Run contracts are a means of ensuring power availability within identified areas.
Participating Intermittent Resource Program (PIRP)
Allows intermittent resources, such as wind-powered generators and other resources with an uncontrollable fuel source, to schedule energy in the ISO forward market without incurring imbalance charges when the delivered energy differs from the scheduled amount.
Participating Generator (PG) Certification
Government Agencies Dealing with Generation
Master CAISO Control Area Generating Capability List
Summary of Generating Units in commercial operation within the CAISO Control Area which can produce net deliveries into the transmission grid. The summary is periodically updated when major changes occur.
