The California ISO selected Horizon West Transmission, LLC as the approved project sponsor to finance, construct, own, operate and maintain the Imperial Valley - North of SONGS 500kV Line and 500/230 kV Substation Project. Horizon West Transmission, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy Transmission, LLC (NEET).
The ISO conducted a comparative analysis of four qualified project sponsors and their four applications. The analysis included assessing the degree that each project sponsor met the selection factors under the ISO tariff section 24.5.4 and the qualification criteria under the ISO tariff section 24.5.3.1.
Per the ISO tariff section 24.5.5: Within 10 Business Days after selecting an Approved Project Sponsor(s) for a needed transmission solution, the ISO will post on the ISO website a report regarding the selection of the Approved Project Sponsor(s).
