The ISO has published the technical analysis for the Contingency Modeling Enhancements initiative, which is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/TechnicalAnalysis-ContingencyModelingEnhancements.pdf.
The purpose of the technical analysis is to confirm that contingency modeling enhancements can achieve desired market outcome, and to assess its market impacts with real market data. The technical analysis provides market simulation results of various scenarios, and impacts to unit commitments and total cost. It also includes a discussion of a two-week period parallel operation.
A stakeholder meeting to discuss the draft final proposal and technical analysis is scheduled for August 22, 2017 at the ISO. If planning to attend the meeting in person, please RSVP by close of business August 21 at http://www.rsvpbook.com/ISOStakeholderMeeting2017. Telephone participants will be in a listen-only mode due to the open dialog that takes place. To fully participate in the dialog, please plan to attend the meeting in person.
Please submit comments on the draft final proposal, technical analysis and meeting discussion by close of business August 31.
