The California ISO has scheduled a public stakeholder call on Oct. 17, 2022, to discuss Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) 188. ACR 188 requires that the ISO prepare a report summarizing recent relevant studies on the impacts of expanded regional cooperation on California and, among other things, discuss engagement between neighboring states on regional transmission organizations in the west.
The objectives of this call are to: 1) provide stakeholders with a foundational overview of the resolution and its requirements; and 2) seek stakeholder input on studies that should be considered in the development of this summary report. Meeting materials will be posted prior to the call on the Regional Solutions webpage.
The ISO will use an independent consultant, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), to author the summary report in partnership with the ISO and other California Balancing Authorities (BAs). The ISO welcomes broad stakeholder engagement from across the West in this effort. In addition to asking stakeholders to assist NREL, the ISO, and California BAs with identifying key relevant studies, the ISO will share and seek stakeholder input on the draft summary report.
The call will be recorded and the video file posted to the Regional Solutions webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the California ISO’s permission.
A comment template will be posted to the Regional Solutions webpage. Please submit written comments on the list of studies to infoACR188@caiso.com by end of day on Oct. 26, 2022.
