Energy Storage Roadmap Workshop 9/4/14
The California ISO, California Public Utilities Commission and California Energy Commission staff will jointly conduct an energy storage roadmap workshop to review and solicit feedback from stakeholders on barriers facing energy storage in California and potential solutions for addressing those barriers. The workshop is scheduled at the ISO on September 4. Please RSVP by August 28 if attending in person or via the web conference.
The California ISO, California Public Utilities Commission and California Energy Commission are partnering to develop a joint energy storage roadmap that will advance California’s energy storage. This roadmap will identify barriers and potential solutions with respect to policy, technology and processes faced by the energy storage sector. It will also identify and suggest priorities for addressing issues and note the appropriate venue to address them. This effort includes collaborating with industry groups and conducting surveys and individual stakeholder interviews. This is not the forum to solve issues; however, it offers a way to document the scope and scale of what must be done to bring energy storage on line in California. Stakeholder participation is essential and will provide input to each agency’s respective processes. The roadmap is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
The September 4 workshop seeks to better understand the barriers identified in the initial outreach and gather additional input and clarifications. This interactive workshop plays a critical role in mapping out the key building blocks required to facilitate energy storage in California.
Information about the workshop will be posted on the California ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/CleanGrid/EnergyStorageRoadmap.aspx as it becomes available.
The roadmap team invites stakeholders to communicate by e-mailing EnergyStorage@caiso.com.
Please RSVP by close of business August 28 via this link, http://www.rsvpbook.com/esrw2014, to express your intent to participate in person or via web and teleconference. Registrants will receive an email with the web and call-in information after registration ends. The workshop information will also be available on the ISO calendar and website listed above.
