New Initiative: Regional Resource Adequacy Meeting 12/16/15 in Salt Lake City, UT

 

 

Summary

The California ISO has launched a new initiative called Regional Resource Adequacy.  A stakeholder meeting is scheduled on December 16, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah to discuss the issue paper, which will be available December 9.  The ISO will also provide a briefing on how resource adequacy currently works within its balancing authority area.  Please RSVP if planning to attend in person as space is limited to the first 90 people; a web conference will also be available.  Comments on the issue paper are due January 7, 2016.

The ISO has launched a new initiative called Regional Resource Adequacy to evaluate resource adequacy tariff provisions appropriate for use in a regional ISO balancing authority area that encompasses multiple states. An issue paper for this initiative will be available December 9 on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/RegionalResourceAdequacy.aspx. The paper will include a tentative schedule for participation in this stakeholder process. Please submit comments on the issue paper to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business January 7, 2016.

 

A stakeholder meeting is scheduled on December 16, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah to discuss the paper and provide a briefing on how resource adequacy currently works within the ISO balancing authority area. Stakeholder meetings are used to review the most recent papers and proposals so interested parties can provide informed feedback through our structured stakeholder process. The ISO will post a presentation for the meeting at the webpage link above on December 14.

 

The meeting will be held at the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) office in Salt lake City, Utah.  If planning to attend in person, please RSVP at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RSVPSLCMeetings by December 7 as space is limited to the first 90 people.  A web conference will be available for those unable to participate in person; see details below.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

 

Please note there will be an additional public workshop for the Transmission Access Charge Options initiative held on Tuesday, December 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) at the same facility.  Information regarding this initiative is available at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/TransmissionAccessChargeOptions.aspx.
