Regional Integration: Transmission Access Charge Options - Extended Schedule

Summary

The California ISO has extended the schedule for the Transmission Access Charge Options initiative, which now targets requesting approval from the ISO Board of Governors in August.

Main Text

The ISO has extended the schedule for the Transmission Access Charge Options initiative, which now targets taking the draft final proposal to the ISO Board of Governors for decision in August, instead of June.

The extended schedule is in response to stakeholder requests for more time to review and provide additional input in the policy development phase.  It also allows the ISO to further develop the details of the proposal by adding another iteration in the stakeholder process.  The extended schedule still permits the ISO to request approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission by the end of 2016.

The revised schedule is as follows:

May 2

Publish revised straw proposal

May 12

Stakeholder meeting to discuss revised straw proposal (location to be determined)

May 27

Written comments due on revised straw proposal

The ISO will provide the location of the May 12 meeting in a market notice in the near future. The revised straw proposal on May 2 will include the remainder of the initiative schedule leading up to the August Board of Governors meeting.
