The California ISO has posted summaries of ISO responses to stakeholder comments on the draft regional framework proposals for the Regional Resource Adequacy and Transmission Access Charge Options initiatives, which were published in early December 2016.
The Regional RA and TAC Options initiatives are elements of a larger set of initiatives that comprise the ISO’s development of a framework for regional expansion of its balancing authority area. The ISO is considering how to address the regional governance structure and other elements of that larger set of efforts for an expanded ISO balancing authority area, and the process for finalizing the entire set of initiatives has not yet been determined. The ISO intends to use these draft regional framework proposals and stakeholder comments to inform the ongoing discussions regarding ISO governance modifications and other elements related to the expansion of the balancing authority area. There is
no imminent ISO Board decision planned for the Regional RA and TAC Options proposals and next steps for these efforts have yet to be determined. The ISO will inform stakeholders of any updates or new activities related to these initiatives in subsequent market notices.
