Regional Resource Adequacy and Transmission Access Charge Options Proposals Posted

Summary

The California ISO has published the third revised straw proposal for the Regional Resource Adequacy (RA) initiative and the second revised straw proposal for the Transmission Access Charge Options (TAC) initiative.  Please submit comments on the Regional RA proposal by October 27 and comments on the TAC Options proposal by October 28.

Main Text

The ISO published the third revised straw proposal for the Regional Resource Adequacy (RA) initiative yesterday September 29, which is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/ThirdRevisedStrawProposal-RegionalResourceAdequacy.pdf.

The Transmission Access Charge Options (TAC) initiative second revised straw proposal is now available at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/SecondRevisedStrawProposal-TransmissionAccessChargeOptions.pdf. The two day delay in posting was to allow the ISO additional time to further develop the proposal.

The Regional RA third revised straw proposal provides further details on all aspects of the proposed revisions to ISO's resource adequacy provisions for an expanded balancing authority area.  The proposal reflects the ISO’s latest enhancements and stakeholder input received during multiple working group discussions on related topics.

The TAC Options second revised straw proposal considers stakeholder comments on previous proposals and on the August 10 working group meeting on cost allocation for new regional transmission projects and the proposed region-wide export access charge.  An addendum that includes stakeholder comments and ISO responses will be posted on the initiative webpage prior to the October 7 meeting separately.

The deadline to submit comments on both proposals is extended a week to give stakeholders more time to provide input.  Please submit comments on the Regional RA proposal by close of business October 27 and comments on the TAC Options proposal by close of business October 28.  Submit all comments to initiativecomments@caiso.com.

Materials related to Regional RA can be found on its initiative webpage at

Materials related to the TAC Options can be found on its initiative webpage at

If planning to attend the either or both of the meetings in person, please RSVP to http://www.rsvpbook.com/ISOStakeholderMeeting2016 by close of business October 3.  Web conferences will be available for those who are unable to participate in person.
