Main Text

The ISO has scheduled a stakeholder working group meeting on July 20, 2016 to discuss the MIC, import resources and resource counting rules topics discussed in the second revised straw proposal for the Regional Resource Adequacy initiative. The proposal is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/SecondRevisedStrawProposal-RegionalResourceAdequacy.pdf.

The July 20 working group meeting is the next step in development of the proposal for Regional Resource Adequacy.  Following the working group meeting, the ISO will assess progress towards developing the proposal and then determine the next steps in the stakeholder process. Stakeholders are encouraged to involve their subject matter experts in this working group to provide input on MIC, import resources and resource counting rules as they apply to an expanded regional Balancing Authority Area.

A presentation for the working group will be published by close of business July 18 on the initiative webpage at http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/RegionalResourceAdequacy.aspx. Materials related to the Regional Resource Adequacy initiative are also available on this webpage.

Please RSVP by close of business July 18 at http://www.rsvpbook.com/ISOStakeholderMeeting2016 if planning to attend in person.  A web conference will also be available for those unable to attend in person. Note: The registration process for attending meetings in person has changed. The new system allows us to better document stakeholder contact information.

Please submit comments on the meeting materials and discussion to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business by July 29.
