  • Natural gas pipeline coordination tariff modifications
The ISO is proposing draft tariff language to clarify the policies on sharing information about forced and unforced generation and transmission outages with utilities operating natural gas pipelines in order to ensure that pipeline outages will not undermine reliable operation of the grid.
    • Outcome
The Oct. 31, 2011 Amendment permits the ISO to share generation and transmission outage information with utilities operating natural gas pipelines, pursuant to non-disclosure agreements. It also allows the ISO and natural gas utilities in California to manage ongoing natural gas pipeline testing and maintenance, as well as gas supply shortages, to ensure a sufficient gas supply is available for reliable operation of the electric grid. — Effective: Dec. 31, 2011 (ER12-278) ; Board of Governors approval: Oct. 27, 2011
