The California ISO assigns import capability for resource adequacy compliance purposes to load serving entities (LSEs) based on load ratio share, while respecting certain existing contractual and/or ownership arrangements known as pre-RA import commitments and new use import commitment, pursuant to ISO tariff section 40.4.6.2.1. The ISO permits import capability transfers if the counterparties are “registered” with the ISO.
The following information must be submitted electronically to reliabilityrequirements@caiso.com with “2025 Import Allocation Section 40.4.6.2.1” referenced in the subject line by June 5, 2024 for the 2025 allocation process:
- Scheduling coordinators for LSEs serving load within the ISO Balancing Authority must submit:
- Completed Import Commitment Data templates:
- The import commitment templates have not been changed from last year.
