The California ISO will host a virtual stakeholder-led prioritization-working group for the 2024 annual discretionary policy initiatives catalog on May 15, 2024. Stakeholders will present potential discretionary initiatives for prioritization in the catalog including presentations on resource adequacy, ISO balancing area reliability and ancillary services, California Public Utility Commission concerns, and potential changes to accommodate storage and other new generation technology.
Attendees will be able to request further clarification on proposals and discuss the prioritization of these proposals for inclusion in the 2024 catalog. Discretionary initiatives in the 2024 catalog will be considered for inclusion in the ISO’s Policy Initiatives Roadmap that will be finalized in December 2024.
There is also a prioritization meeting scheduled for this week: May 8, 2024. The May 8th meeting will include presentation of prioritized initiatives by the Regional Issues Forum and other Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) related issues
