Main Text
The ISO has scheduled a stakeholder call on November 9, 2015 to discuss the draft final proposal for the Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources initiative available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/DraftFinalProposal-EnergyStorageandDistributedEnergyResources.pdf.
Enhancing the ability of transmission grid-connected storage and distribution-connected resources to participate in the ISO market is the central focus of this ISO initiative. In this paper the ISO presents its draft final proposals on the topics in scope for the 2015 phase of the energy storage and distributed energy resources initiative.
The 2015 scope consists of three topics: a limited set of enhancements to the ISO non-generator resources model, enhancements to the ISO demand response resource participation models (proxy demand resource and reliability demand response resource), and addressing questions associated with non-resource adequacy multiple use applications.
Please submit comments on the draft final proposal to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business November 16.
A presentation will be posted on the initiative webpage http://www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/StakeholderProcesses/EnergyStorage_AggregatedDistributedEnergyResources.aspx November 5.
More information on this initiative is available at the website previously referenced.
