The California ISO Department of Market Monitoring has published the 2023 Second Quarter Report on Market Issues and Performance and has scheduled a stakeholder web conference on Dec. 1, 2023 to discuss reported analysis and findings.
The report covers market results for the period from April to June 2023. Market prices fell as gas prices fell from extraordinarily high levels across the market footprint in December 2022 and hydroelectric generation increased in California. This resulted in lower system marginal energy prices across the ISO and Western Energy Imbalance Market. In addition to market results, the report includes a review of nodal flexible ramping product implementation in February.
