The California ISO activation of Energy Storage Enhancements (ESE) State of Charge (SOC) Constraints is now effective for trade date Nov. 1, 2023. For the Daylight Saving Time transition for Long Day on Nov. 5, 2023, the attenuation factors for Hour End 2 will repeat to account for the extra hour.
The ESE SOC Constraints implementation scope is for Regulation Award Clarifications to include expected impacts from regulation in SOC. This implementation impacts the market systems.
The Energy Storage Enhancements Attenuation Factors Q4-2023 is available on the Network and Resource Modeling webpage, under the Attenuation factors for regulation heading.“
For Trade Date 11/1/23, the attenuation factors will be set to 25% of the full values published in the location above, and will increase 25% each month from 11/1/23 until reaching 100% of the full values.
