The California ISO has posted the draft base cases for use in the 2023 and 2027 Local Capacity Technical Studies now available on the ISO Transmission Planning secured website for stakeholder review and comment. Interested parties must follow the procedures outlined below to obtain access to the secure site and submit comments on the base cases by close of business Jan. 28, 2022.
The California ISO Tariff requires the ISO to engage in a transparent and collaborative process while performing its 2023 and 2027 Local Capacity Technical Studies. As part of this collaborative process, the ISO and stakeholders agreed that the ISO will publish initial base cases on or about Jan. 15, 2022. These initial 2023 and 2027 base cases are now available on the ISO Regional Transmission secure website.
Interested entities must complete, execute and submit the Regional Transmission Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), and the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) Confidentiality Agreement to gain access to the secure website. These documents and other criteria for accessing the secure website are available on the ISO Transmission Planning webpage under the Accessing transmission data heading.
Entities may submit written comments on the base cases to regionaltransmission@caiso.com by close of business Jan. 28, 2022.
The 2023 Local Capacity Requirements Final Study Manual is available on the recurring process webpage, under the Activities and Study Manual.
