To provide a more robust outlook on forecasted grid conditions, the California ISO is launching the addition of Resource Adequacy (RA) capacity trends to the Today’s Outlook Demand page on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021. The new graphs will show RA data for both the current day and a rolling seven-day forecast.
To accommodate the new addition, the ISO will conduct maintenance on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Today’s Outlook and the ISO Today mobile application. Users may experience interruptions and stale data during this window.
The new supply data includes available RA capacity and available net RA capacity. The demand graphs will continue to display energy demand with the addition of net energy demand, and corresponding reserve requirements.
Using a dropdown feature, RA credits can be highlighted in the RA capacity curves, and reserve requirements can be shown on the demand and forecast curves. The data can also be downloaded as a CSV file.
A high-level walkthrough and Q&A session to review these enhancements will be offered to customers on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021. We encourage users to review the trend graphs on the Today’s Outlook Demand page prior to attending this session.
The enhanced data will be added to the ISO Today mobile app next month.
