The ISO has scheduled a stakeholder meeting on August 22, 2017 to discuss the Contingency Modeling Enhancements draft final proposal and technical analysis. The proposal is available on the ISO website at http://www.caiso.com/Documents/DraftFinalProposal-ContingencyModelingEnhancements.pdf. The ISO will publish its technical analysis of the contingency modeling enhancements prototype as well as an agenda and presentation prior to the meeting.
The ISO currently uses minimum online commitment constraints and exceptional dispatch to pre-dispatch the system to meet reliability criteria with corrective time limitations. This initiative explores proactive market alternatives to meet these reliability criteria without minimum online commitment constraints and exceptional dispatch.
Please submit comments on the draft final proposal, technical analysis and meeting discussion to initiativecomments@caiso.com by close of business August 31.
