New Initiative: Maximum Import Capability Stabilization and Multi-Year Allocation Call 12/10/19

The California ISO has scheduled a public stakeholder call on Dec. 10, 2019, to discuss the issue paper for the new Maximum Import Capability (MIC) Stabilization and Multi-Year Allocation initiative. The issue paper is available on the initiative webpage at

Through this initiative, the ISO will review and update the methodology used to calculate the Maximum Import Capability in order to make year-by-year fluctuations more stable. The ISO is also proposing to change the assignment process under Tariff section from a year by year to a multi-year allocation process in order to allow for long-term contracting with resources outside the ISO Balancing Authority Area.

An agenda and presentation will be available prior to the meeting on the initiative webpage at the link above.

Please submit written comments to by end of day Dec. 24.
