The California ISO has scheduled a public stakeholder call on Dec. 10, 2019, to discuss the issue paper for the new Maximum Import Capability (MIC) Stabilization and Multi-Year Allocation initiative. The issue paper is available on the initiative webpage at http://www.caiso.com/StakeholderProcesses/Maximum-import-capability-stabilization-multi-year-allocation.
Through this initiative, the ISO will review and update the methodology used to calculate the Maximum Import Capability in order to make year-by-year fluctuations more stable. The ISO is also proposing to change the assignment process under Tariff section 40.4.6.1 from a year by year to a multi-year allocation process in order to allow for long-term contracting with resources outside the ISO Balancing Authority Area.
An agenda and presentation will be available prior to the meeting on the initiative webpage at the link above.
Please submit written comments to RegionalTransmission@caiso.com by end of day Dec. 24.
