The California ISO will hold a public stakeholder meeting on Dec. 16, 2019, to discuss the straw proposal for the new System Market Power Mitigation initiative.
Through this initiative, the ISO will design a system-level market power mitigation process in two phases. In the first phase, the ISO plans to develop policy for the ISO balancing area in the real-time market. In the second phase, the ISO plans to develop policy for the wider Energy Imbalance Market footprint and expand the mitigation design to the day-ahead market.
The straw proposal incorporates stakeholder input from the recently-published white paper, as well as from previous analyses meetings.
Please RSVP by end of day Dec. 12, if you would like to attend the meeting in person. A presentation will be available prior to the meeting on the initiative web page at http://www.caiso.com/StakeholderProcesses/System-Market-Power-Mitigation.
A web conference will be available for stakeholder convenience. In addition, the meeting will be recorded and the video file posted on the initiative webpage for a limited time. The recording is for informational and convenience purposes only, and any related transcriptions should not be reprinted without the ISO’s permission.
Please submit written comments on the paper and discussion to initiativecomments@caiso.com by end of day Jan. 10.
